Eva's Post on Graffiti vs. Ads

Graffiti is about putting out one’s personal views and sharing them with the world. Contrastingly, advertising is about using stereotypes and appealing to a certain audience with a goal in mind. I think it is really interesting how these two forms of visual culture and public art/information are really only divided in the reasons that they were made. One is about expression and ignores what viewers want to see; the other is cultivated with the viewer’s wants being the driving factor.
